Description

The Black Tip made its name on construction. Its composite bottom layer shrugged off moisture and fatigue while holding its rebound season after season. For our 30 Years of Innovation drop, we took that idea further and built the bottom veneer from carbon fiber, a first for Carver: stronger, lighter, and more resilient, with noticeably more energy in every pump. Thirty years of building boards, and this is the biggest performance leap yet.

The new HPR17 mold matches the material. A mellow concave runs through the center, the front foot pocket is deeply spooned, and a lower tail angle keeps your back foot driving through the turn. Underneath it all, the exposed carbon weave recalls the shimmering skin of its namesake shark.

Available with CX for snappier rail engagement or C7 for that smooth, drawn-out surf feeling, rolling on 70mm 78a Mags that hold speed over rough pavement.

You'll Love This If…
  • You’re hard on your gear and want construction that keeps up.
  • You pump hard and want a board that gives the energy back.
  • You want the lightest, liveliest version of a proven shape.

This is my best board

"This is my best board yet. You can really pick up some serious speed on the pump track with it. It’s very light but incredibly durable. It’s also a blast to ride around the pool. This new carbon-fiber construction is spot on!"

— András K. (5/5)

I’m old and haven’t done

"I’m old and haven’t done any board sports in a while and this board has eased me back in nicely. It feels stable but maneuverable. I’m still learning to surfskate but it’s got me hooked! It’s just a good time and I’m happy I started on the Black Tip."

Fun

"Truly wanted to give this a five star, but the loss of concave is very noticeable in performance. Still a great board."

— Jimmyjames (4/5)

My first ride was in

"My first ride was in a pool and the soft wheels are to slick for the Skatepark and my initial thought was disappointment. I tried the board again on asphalt and was very impressed with how well and smooth it carves. Really fun board, I definitely recommend it, just be careful with the slick wheels at the Skatepark."

— JAMES J. (5/5)

Smitten

"I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it! I drooled and then I finally ordered, best thing ever. So fun."

— Alexisse (5/5)

"Tiene un maltrato"

Great board, it delivers what

"Great board, it delivers what it promises. But more information on trucks maintenance makes me not give it a 5 stars."

— Rodrigo P. (4/5)

Haven’t tryed the one yet

"Haven’t tryed the one yet but the carver is gogeous and it arrived much more quickly then expected"

— Juaquin D. (5/5)

Pure pump track board

"Really happy with it! Carver cx trucks with 4 presidents 80a durometer wheels. I bought it specifically for use in park/bowls and pump tracks. The cx takes some getting used too . Must really commit and push hard. Very stable and confidence inspiring. Not sketchy at all."

— MICHAEL P. (5/5)
