Description

The Black Tip made its name on construction. Its composite bottom layer shrugged off moisture and fatigue while holding its rebound season after season. For our 30 Years of Innovation drop, we took that idea further and built the bottom veneer from carbon fiber, a first for Carver: stronger, lighter, and more resilient, with noticeably more energy in every pump. Thirty years of building boards, and this is the biggest performance leap yet.

The new HPR17 mold matches the material. A mellow concave runs through the center, the front foot pocket is deeply spooned, and a lower tail angle keeps your back foot driving through the turn. Underneath it all, the exposed carbon weave recalls the shimmering skin of its namesake shark.

Pair it with the Carver truck system and Roundhouse or Orangatang wheels of your choice to complete your custom setup.

Components

You will receive a complete surfskate built with the components you select. You may opt to build it yourself and we will ship the board unassembled (including all the risers, nuts and bolts necessary to put it together).

Carbon Fiber Bottom Veneer

Stronger and lighter than the original composite, with more energy returned in every pump and resistance to moisture and fatigue. The exposed weave recalls the shimmering skin of its namesake shark.

Pressed in the HPR17 Mold

Mellow center concave, a deeply spooned front foot pocket, and a lower tail angle for locked-in control.

30 Years of Innovation

Carbon fiber is a first for Carver, released in the 2026 anniversary drop marking 30 years of the original surfskate.

Compatible With All Carver Trucks

"Steel wheels , bloody knees and dreams of a skate that could surf the asphalt world of my childhood has come to pass with this Blacktip . Flash forward from 1962 through to today ! From the death of skateboarding to the invention of the urethane wheel resurrection of 1971 . Dreams did come true for this 73 year old kid . I’ve been skate surfing miles and miles of closed mountain highway downhill. It’s game on for any parking lot or undiscovered wave surface for the creative to explore ! Hang loose , keep the faith!
