Description

The Black Tip made its name on construction. Its composite bottom layer shrugged off moisture and fatigue while holding its rebound season after season. For our 30 Years of Innovation drop, we took that idea further and built the bottom veneer from carbon fiber, a first for Carver: stronger, lighter, and more resilient, with noticeably more energy in every pump. Thirty years of building boards, and this is the biggest performance leap yet.

The new HPR17 mold matches the material. A mellow concave runs through the center, the front foot pocket is deeply spooned, and a lower tail angle keeps your back foot driving through the turn. Underneath it all, the exposed carbon weave recalls the shimmering skin of its namesake shark.

Available with CX for snappier rail engagement or C7 for that smooth, drawn-out surf feeling, rolling on 70mm 78a Mags that hold speed over rough pavement.

"I’m old and haven’t done any board sports in a while and this board has eased me back in nicely. It feels stable but maneuverable. I’m still learning to surfskate but it’s got me hooked! It’s just a good time and I’m happy I started on the Black Tip."

A lil disappointed

"I hate to wright a disappointing review on this board but considering that I have had the first 2 BLACKTIPs, and about 10 other carvers I’m very surprised and regret to say that this mild concave actually made me think about a return of the board/ exchange for another original and I mean before the channels. To me the deep concave and bigger tail of the prior BLACKTIPs was the most impactful characteristic. While creating major muscle memory by deep and hard pumps I felt very locked in, as well while in a hard carve I could dig harder than any other carver I stepped foot on. Sorry to say that to me it’s very attractive but not a blacktip. And as for that locked in feeling that the prior BLACKTIPs gave, I’m happy to pull the very first one out and again and again. Honestly I hate to write this review and would love to have nothing but good things to say but I just can not-JIMMY!"

My first ride was in

"My first ride was in a pool and the soft wheels are to slick for the Skatepark and my initial thought was disappointment. I tried the board again on asphalt and was very impressed with how well and smooth it carves. Really fun board, I definitely recommend it, just be careful with the slick wheels at the Skatepark."

Pure pump track board

"Really happy with it! Carver cx trucks with 4 presidents 80a durometer wheels. I bought it specifically for use in park/bowls and pump tracks. The cx takes some getting used too . Must really commit and push hard. Very stable and confidence inspiring. Not sketchy at all."
