Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the things riders ask us most. If you can't find what you need, contact us and we'll help.

Orders & Shipping

Most asked. This is what riders contact us about most.

Tracking information is emailed to you as soon as your order ships. If you haven't received it, check your spam folder first. It's the most common culprit.

If your tracking hasn't updated in a few days, hang tight. Carriers can be slow to scan, especially during transit between hubs. Most carriers also offer free delivery-management tools like real-time alerts, delivery scheduling, rerouting, and driver instructions. We recommend setting those up, especially if your delivery location is unattended.

If something looks genuinely stuck, contact us with your order number and we'll look into it.

Once a package is marked Delivered by the carrier, ownership and responsibility transfer to the recipient.

Every order ships from our Culver City, California workshop. Place your order by 11:00am Pacific on a business day and it ships the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff, or on weekends and holidays, ship the next business day.

We ship via FedEx, UPS, and USPS domestically. Orders to PO Boxes automatically go through USPS. Real-time shipping rates are calculated at checkout.

International orders ship via FedEx, UPS, DHL eCommerce, or DHL Express. Import duties and taxes are included and itemized during checkout, so there are no surprises at the door.

Free Ground Shipping on all orders over $75 within the continental U.S.

Because we process orders quickly for same-day fulfillment, we can't guarantee cancellation or modification requests after an order is placed. If you need to make a change, contact us immediately and we'll do our best to catch it before it ships.

Once it ships, changes aren't possible, but our 30-day return process is straightforward.

Yes. We ship worldwide from Culver City, California via FedEx, UPS, DHL eCommerce, and DHL Express. Import duties and taxes are included and itemized at checkout, so there are no surprise charges on delivery. In some regions, the carrier may request confirmation before final delivery, so keep an eye on your tracking.

Note: PO Boxes are not accepted for international orders.

We also have authorized retailers and distributors in many countries. If you'd prefer to buy locally, let us know your region and we'll connect you with the nearest shop.

Apparel ships separately from boards and hardware. Many of our apparel items are made to order and ship directly from the manufacturer. This helps reduce unnecessary production and lets us offer a wider range of styles.

You'll receive separate tracking information for apparel shipments. Apparel orders are still eligible for free U.S. shipping on orders over $75.

Double-check your shipping address at checkout. Once your order is processed, we can't guarantee address changes. Failed deliveries due to incorrect or incomplete address information may result in additional fees, delays, or order cancellation.

If you catch an error, contact us immediately and we'll try to update it before the order ships.

Returns

We offer a 30-day, no-questions-asked return policy on products purchased directly from carverskateboards.com. You have 30 days from the date of delivery to notify us, and then 30 days after that to ship the product back.

The product must be returned in its original packaging and in as-new, unused condition. You're responsible for the cost of return shipping.

For international orders, outbound export shipping costs and any destination-country duties and taxes are non-refundable. You may be able to reclaim duties and taxes through your local customs authority.

Items purchased from authorized retailers should be returned through that retailer's own return process.

Contact us through the contact form on our website to initiate the return. We'll send you return instructions.

Once we receive and inspect the product, we'll process your refund if it meets the return criteria. Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 2 business days of approval. Allow 5–10 business days for your bank to deposit the funds.

Returns that don't meet the criteria (used product, missing packaging, outside the window) won't be refunded. You can request the product be shipped back to you at your expense.

30-Day No-Questions-Asked Returns.

The quickest path is to return the original board under our 30-day return policy and place a new order for the one you want. That way you're not waiting on the return to process before your new setup ships. If you need help choosing a different model, let us know your riding style and what you're looking for. We'll help you dial it in.

Warranty & Repairs

Trucks are covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. We call it the Iron Rail Guarantee. Carver trucks are built to last, and if something goes wrong with the materials or workmanship, we'll make it right.

Decks are warranted for 30 days from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects. Normal wear from riding (surface scratches, cosmetic dings) isn't covered, but anything structural is.

Warranty coverage applies to the original purchaser with proof of purchase.

Contact us through the support form on our website with the following:

  • The product and model name (if you know it)
  • Photos of the issue: a close-up of the problem area and a shot of the full bottom of the board or truck
  • Your proof of purchase
  • Your shipping address

Once we have those details, we'll review and follow up. The goal is to get you skating again.

Yes, and it's a straightforward fix. The C7 was designed so that individual components can be replaced without swapping the whole truck. A C7 Replacement Baseplate runs $19.00 and a C7 Link Set is $10.50. Both are available on our website under replacement parts.

If the truck is under warranty (original owner, proof of purchase), contact us and we'll take care of it. If it's outside warranty, whether from years of hard riding or a secondhand purchase, the parts are affordable and the repair is simple.

Built to Last. And when parts do wear, built to repair.

Probably not. Most hardwood skateboards are made with very thin top and base veneers (around 0.6mm) that provide the graphic or finished look. After riding, it's possible for light surface cracks to appear in that outer layer. It's cosmetic, not structural, and it's one of the reasons manufacturers use full-coverage grip tape on top.

Here's how to tell the difference: remove the hardware and look through the mounting holes. If the crack only affects the outermost veneer, the board is fine. If it appears to go through multiple layers, contact us with photos and we'll take a closer look.

Replacement parts for all Carver truck systems (baseplates, link sets, springs, pivot cups, bushings, and hardware) are available directly on carverskateboards.com. If you're unsure which part you need, send us a photo of the issue and we'll identify it for you.

Setup & Riding

Nope, that's normal. All the urethane parts on a Carver (bushings and wheels) are coated with a mold release compound during manufacturing to help them release cleanly. It usually wears off after a few hours of riding.

If you want to speed it up: remove the roadside bushing, scrub it with dish soap or lightly roughen the surface against the grip tape, wipe the washer clean, and reinstall. That'll fix it immediately.

The C7 uses a dual-axis system: a swinging arm with a compression spring, plus a traditional hanger lean. The main adjustment point is the spring bolt. Tighten it all the way clockwise, then back it off two to five half-turns counter-clockwise. That range gives you everything from a loose, surfy feel to a tighter, more responsive ride.

A key note: the pivot bolt on the underside of the baseplate is not meant to be adjusted during normal use. If it's come loose (you'll feel the link pin disconnect), here's the fix:

  1. Remove the truck from the deck using the four mounting screws.
  2. Loosen the spring bolt and disengage the spring and link from the link pin.
  3. Flip the truck over and snug the pivot bolt. Firm, not over-tight.
  4. Reassemble: spring nut into the baseplate (flat side facing the spring), spring next to it, link on the link pin, spring bolt through all three.
  5. Tighten the spring bolt fully, then back off two to five half-turns.
  6. Remount the truck.
A C7 diagram is available from our support team.

Three things to check:

Pivot cup position. Make sure it's sitting fully flush in the baseplate. If it's slightly out of position, the hanger won't seat correctly.

Kingpin angle. Confirm the kingpin is straight and at the correct angle. If it looks off, something may have shifted during assembly or shipping.

Bushing orientation. The two CX bushings look nearly identical, but the taller one goes deck-side and the shorter one goes roadside. Swapping them can cause an uneven feel.

Also make sure the kingpin nut is tightened enough that at least one thread is showing above the nut. If you're still having trouble, send us a profile photo of the truck and we'll take a look.

You should always see at least one thread showing above the kingpin nut, even when running softer aftermarket bushings. If the nut is flush or recessed, it's too loose and the truck won't perform correctly. This applies to both the CX and C5 truck systems.

Choosing a Board

For most new riders, we recommend starting with a board in the 30"–33" range on CX trucks. The CX is a single-axis truck that's intuitive to ride from day one. Responsive enough to carve and pump, stable enough at speed for everyday riding. It's the most versatile truck in the lineup.

The 31" Resin is a great all-around starting point. It's the archetype of Carver surfskates: a traditional thruster shape with a 17" wheelbase that carves, snaps, and flows through streets and hills. It's proven to be the perfect middle ground for all types of surfskating.

If you're a bigger rider or want more stability at speed, look at the 34" Greenroom. Extra length with deep contoured pockets in the DBL18 mold for powerful, drawn-out carves.

C7. The original, refined over 30 years. A dual-axis truck with a swinging arm and compression spring that generates thrust and deep rail-to-rail carves. The closest thing to surfing on pavement. Ideal for surf training, flowing sessions, and riders who want maximum lateral movement.

CX. Snappier and more responsive than the C7. A single-axis truck that's the most versatile in the lineup. Stable enough for speed, sensitive enough for technical carving, easy to push for everyday riding.

C5. The lightest and lowest-profile option. Designed for riders who want a surfskate that's closer to a traditional skateboard feel while still carving. Quick, nimble, and great for technical riding.

Board length and wheelbase matter more than width for surfskating. Here's a general guide:

Shorter boards (28"–30") are quicker and more maneuverable. Good for smaller riders, kids, or anyone who wants tight, snappy turns.

Mid-range (30"–33") is the sweet spot for most riders. Enough length to flow smoothly, short enough to pump easily on the flats.

Longer boards (33"+) add stability and carry speed. Better for bigger riders, downhill carving, or anyone who prefers powerful, drawn-out turns over quick snaps.

Foot size plays into it too. If you have bigger feet, a wider tail and more generous foot pockets will feel more locked in. If you're between sizes, let us know your height, weight, and riding style and we'll help narrow it down.

Yes. Our Mini Surfskates are real surfskates built with the same pro-quality truck components used on adult models, not scaled-down toys. They provide true surfskate performance in a size that works for younger riders. These boards teach proper carving mechanics from day one.

Authenticity

The safest way to ensure you're getting a genuine Carver is to buy from carverskateboards.com or one of our authorized retailers. We do not sell through sites like AliExpress, Temu, or other large third-party marketplaces. If you see Carver boards there, they are not authorized and we cannot guarantee authenticity.

If you already have a board and want to verify it, let us know the retailer name, location, and the model name. Authenticity is easiest to confirm in person, but we can often help narrow it down from photos of the trucks and deck.

Email us your city or region and we'll connect you with the nearest authorized retailer or distributor. We sell through core surf and skate shops worldwide, not big-box stores or random online marketplaces. That's intentional.

Sponsorship

Send us photos and videos of what you can do on a Carver, and on a surfboard if you ride. Social media links work too if that's where you post your sessions. We want to see your riding, your style, and your stoke.

If you're under 18, please copy a parent or guardian on any communication that includes social media links.

Submit everything through our contact form or support email. We'll make sure the right people see it, and someone will follow up within a week of your submission.

We do. Carver supports surf and skate events, demo days, community rides like the Ride Together Surfskate Jam tour, and partnerships with organizations like GRLSWIRL. If you're organizing an event and think Carver would be a good fit, contact our support team with the event details: location, date, audience, and what kind of support you're looking for. We'll take a look and get back to you.
